Ayurveda Dosha and Tastes

|| Om Gurave Namah ||
Dear Friends,
 Previously in this blog I had written about ShadRasa (6 Tastes). Each of Six tastes is ruled by a graha. Depending upon Graha influences on your lagna your taste for food changes.

The food we eat changes our constitution. In simplest level Ayurveda (Health Science) divides three types of body constitutions names Vata, Pitta and Kapha. You can read futher about these from any Ayurveda websites.

In Jyotish texts like Diseases are identified using these associations.

Just like what we eat causes trouble what we eat can also fix the health trouble. The most generic way of identifying what could be good for your current health conditition can be found by the taste of food.

First try to find our what Dosha is currently troubling you body and then try to eat food which reduces that dosha.

The table below is given from Prashna Marga (Which in turn qoutes from "Astanga Hridaya").
